The bump.
I am 39 weeks today.
I think I may have dropped...

...just a bit...
...maybe.
And it almost is!
I am SO thankful that I am feeling so well. If you don't count the pulled muscle in the belly, not sleeping well and being generally uncomfortable...other than that...I'm great! :)
At 37 weeks...I was feeling pretty terrible. I wasn't sure how I was going to make it. I told Mark that he was carrying the next one. :)
But really, overall, I feel really well. This pregnancy has been such a blessing. I've loved all the wiggles and kicks and know I will miss them...but I have to say...I am ready to hold our baby in my arms!
Tonight we grabbed a few pictures of Mama, Daddy & the bump. (Similar to the ones we took with Eddie.)

Big Brother was already in bed and missed out on the photo fun, but I didn't want to leave him out. So here are some of him & the bump from last month.

I thought about trying to re-take some...but I don't know it I'd be able to find Eddie under the belly anymore!

He still seems to think that pulling up my shirt and talking directly into what is left of my belly button is the best way to talk to the baby. :)

Practice
This week we spent some time organizing and getting ready for the baby. Mark installed the car seat and brought up the baby swing.
Eddie has been fascinated by all of it. Especially the swing.

He is also a big fan of the Bumbo.

He has even begun carting my old Cabbage Patch around and calling it 'baby'.

It has been good practice. We keep reminding him to be gentle & that he is too big to sit in the swing.

The next few weeks are going to be interesting! I am praying that it all goes smoothly...and that Eddie does not try to swing the baby around like he does his doll. :)

Nesting.
While I was scrubbing the bathroom floor tonight, Eddie asked what I was doing.
Before I could answer, Mark responded..."Mommy is nesting."
'Nesting' has been in full force over here for about the last week. I have been organizing, making lists & cleaning like nobody's business. Tonight I got the bathroom clean. (At least clean enough that it doesn't bother me anymore. I don't think I'll ever get that floor as clean as I'd like it, hopefully someday we will replace it.)
Yesterday, I finally bought a new rug. I've been looking for like 6 months. While I try not to buy anything too girly for the boys' sake, (but hey - we may be evening out the numbers soon...or not) when I saw this rug, it made me smile. It also made me excited to scrub the floor.

Isn't is cute! [In a very manly sort of way. :) ]
Next up. The kitchen.
Once the bathroom was clean, Eddie was able to hop in the tub.

He was pretty excited.

He was even more excited when bath time was over and it was time to turn the shower on. While he used to be terrified of the shower...now...he loves it.

Free Sample
We got a teeny, tiny diaper in the mail on Saturday.

The package that it came in was super tiny...but it looked even smaller once Mark put it next to one of Eddie's.
I never thought that Eddie's were that big...I have a feeling he is going to look like a giant soon!

What is it about tiny things that make them so cute? I know what will be filling that tiny diaper soon, but I can't help but think how adorable it is. :)

Pumpkin
While pregnant with Eddie I gathered as much information as I could. I knew how big he was and what was developing in any given week. I was always checking parents.com.
I must say...haven't done that much this time around.
(Sorry kid.)
I am now really feeling pregnant. And was curious just how big this baby is.
So. I headed back to parents.com

5 & 29
Today was the 5th Sunday of the month.
On the 5th Sunday, Grandpa & Grammum claim Eddie for the day. I admit...I was really looking forward to this one. Between Eddie being sick & not sleeping the best and me being pregnant...I've been tired. On most 5th Sundays we will go to lunch at my parents' house after church and then leave Eddie for the afternoon. But today...Eddie spent the day with Grandpa, Grammum & his aunties.
Mark & I skipped church, went out for breakfast and watched movies.
It was wonderful.
For all of us.
I love this tradition.
Today was also the first day of my 29th week of pregnancy.
This pregnancy is flying. I thought I should take a belly photo...

Can't really tell....let me turn.
Ahhh....there is the belly!

I had another appointment last week. Everything is great & right on track. I passed the gross orange drink test & the baby's heartbeat was in the 140's. I'm still feeling really well. By this point with Eddie I had the worst heartburn & knew all the best spots to stop for chocolate milk. I do get hot flashes now, which I haven't experienced before and my back/hips can hurt at night. Oh, and I get tired. When Eddie naps, so do I. :)
Tonight Mark & I were talking. I keep telling him about things I want to get done before the baby comes...I think it is time to start tackling that list because this kid is going to be here before I know it!

check-ups & the great crib debate
Yesterday I took Eddie to the doctor for his 18 month check-up. He did not have the explosive growth like he had at his 15 month check-up...actually his numbers hardly changed at all. He got a bit taller...but not much. He is now back on the charts at 80% for height. He also gained a whopping .8 pounds, keeping him in the 50% for weight. When I was telling Mark about it last night...I really didn't have much to say. Basically, my report was: Eddie is doing great! :)
Today I went to the doctor as well. I'm at 26 1/2 weeks and the baby is doing just great too! (so am I) The heartbeat was in the high 140's to low 150's. I start going every 2 weeks from now on, which seems very hard to believe. This pregnancy is flying! Again today I didn't have tons to report back to Mark. I think I talked more about Christmas with my Doctor than I did about the baby!
So all is well with our children.
Such a blessing!
After much debating...we decided to buy another crib. While Eddie might be able to handle a big bed...he isn't trying to get out of his crib. And basically until he does, he is staying in there! It is the only time I can get him to stay in one spot! :)
Several people did offer to let us borrow a crib, (which is so nice) but after someone used his crib as a big teething rail, I wasn't comfortable with the possibility of a child chewing to bits a crib that we didn't own.
I've been keeping an eye on Craig's List for a deal and...I found one. Mark picked it up on Monday. Because Eddie is such a pro at putting cribs together, he helped Mark.

Eddie was really excited about it.

This is when he spotted me & wanted me to come and see it.

He liked playing on it.

He even helped Mark clean it.

The underside is spotless.

Eddie thought it was a new place to play, until Mark put the front on. Once he couldn't climb on it, the crib wasn't so cool anymore.

Now that we have the new one, I am praying that he doesn't suddenly decide to be done with his crib. It is still comforting to know that during nap time he is sleeping & not emptying all his clothing onto the floor. :)

Our Little Peanut.

Thursday afternoon we had our second ultra-sound. It is amazing what God did in 3 short weeks! Our little one no longer looked like an alligator, but instead like a chubby faced cutie. (Who reminded me very much of his/her big brother! Look at that adorable nose!)
The baby was still wiggly, but the technician was able to get all the measurements that she needed & everything looked great and we are on track for April 19(ish)! :)

Big Brother Love
Tonight the baby was wiggling and I called Mark over.
Eddie wandered over as well.
We kept saying, "baby" while Mark had his hands on my belly.

Eddie kept trying to crawl up on the couch.
We thought he wanted to sit by Mark, but he kept wiggling out of his grasp.
Finally we let him go where he wanted and Eddie proceeded to snuggle up on my belly!

Oh, how I love this kid!
Once Eddie lost interest, the proud Daddy had some 'alone' time with our little wiggle butt.

Cute little baby...alligator?
As I squinted at the ultrasound screen this afternoon, all I could see was an alligator. The ultrasound technician kept saying that everything looked great...but I didn't see a thing until about half way through the exam.
Afterwords, Mark told me he didn't see anything either.
That made me feel better.
Once things took shape...I could see a baby. And what a cute baby it is!

Once all the measurements were taken, the due date is looking like April 19, putting me at 18 weeks. This confirms the 1st ultrasound, but not the original due date of April 8, which would have put me at 20 weeks.
The change in dates doesn't mean a whole lot, but it is nice to have a 'set' due date. But of course as we learned the last time, due dates don't mean a whole lot. Just like big brother...this baby is going to make its appearance when it is good and ready. Or when the doctor says enough is enough and the kid needs a nudge. :)

From what the technician could see, all the baby parts looked great. She wasn't able to get a good profile shot because the baby was laying breech, and she couldn't see the feet because the baby was wiggling so much (and jumping on my bladder)!
Because she couldn't get all the angles she needed, we will have another ultrasound in 3 weeks. (Yea!)

No, we did not find out what we are having (the tech did say that it would have been hard to figure out because of how the baby was laying). The heart beat was 150 today & lower than it has been in the past. But I can't remember what Eddie's was...is a girl's faster and a boy's slower...or is it the other way around?
I am still thinking it is a girl...and Mark says boy...just to contradict me. He doesn't have a strong feeling either way. Of course...I thought Eddie was a girl.

Knock, knock.
Our new little one has begun to make itself known! I love all the kicks, jabs and pops I've been getting. It is exciting that Mark has been able to feel them too. Because I am almost 20 weeks (so hard to believe!) I thought I should start to take some belly photos.

I was shocked when I uploaded this. I didn't realize that I was sticking out so far already!
'Baby' has become one of Eddie's favorite words, that along with 'Audrey'. I get asked where Audrey is all day long.

Eddie's stuffy nose has turned into an ear infection. He started bubble gum medicine on Monday & it is nice to have our happy guy back. He never got too grumpy, but it is nice to see his energy come back. As much as I've enjoyed the extra snuggle time, I'm not used to him staying in one spot for 30 min at a time!

Jumping for joy & something for the baby.
I have been thinking lately that Eddie still speaks a lot of gibberish and not a whole lot of English. Friday I decided to write down his words. I was surprised at how many he had. Most of them I still interpret, but he's getting the idea.
here is the list (in the order I heard them):
Audrey was coaching him (just a bit) and was quite excited. Auntie Em & Auntie Julie have started working on him as well, but tonight as we were building blocks, he was still walking around saying, 'Audrey'.
And now for something completely different...I bought something for the baby.

here is the list (in the order I heard them):
guck = truck, apple, Mama, Daddy, thank you, yum, yuck, uh oh, What's that?, Oh, Wow!, OH WOW!, waffle, all done, whoa, hello!, Mmmm, hot, oh no, no, yup, juice and say.
And his brand new word....

Family resemblance?
Eddie @ 10 weeks 3 days

Baby #2 at 9 weeks 4 days

This was taken 2 weeks ago. I know you can't really see anything in the ultrasound photo, but when we were watching the screen, we could see a lot more. God is amazing! The baby was wiggling all about and we could see little hands waving.
When the sound of the heartbeat filled the room, tears filled my eyes. It felt like we had been on pins & needles for awhile and it was so reassuring to hear. It was 173 bpm. Our original due date was April 8, but after the technician measured the baby, the due date moved to April 19.
I've actually been feeling about the same as when I was baking Eddie. Nauseous and sleepy. The big difference is with Eddie, I was on my own and could sleep when I wanted. Now, I have an energetic 1 year old. :) I have always enjoyed living close to our family, but I've never been as thankful for this as I have been lately. My Mom has come to the rescue on more than one occasion.
I am starting to feel better. I've been saying that for the last few weeks...I was hoping for the power of positive thinking, but now it is actually true!
