Take me out to the ball game...

This afternoon we went to Audrey's softball game. Audrey's team was in the dugout when we arrived. Eddie was looking in, trying to find her...but couldn't. Once he was able to pick her out of the crowd, he wanted to go in by her. When we wouldn't let him...he talked Daddy into a walk by the pond and a trip to the nearby playground.

It was a beautiful afternoon for a game and it was fun to see Audrey 'in action' again.

Eddie was quite excited when the game was over & Audrey came out of the dugout. He also found the best way to hang on while on Daddy's shoulders...stick your thumbs in his ears.

5th Sunday

What a wonderful weekend. I tried to narrow down the photos of my adventures...but it was hard and so this one got a bit long. On Friday we went with my Grammum to an appointment and met Auntie Em for lunch.

I still love the nose beep game!

Friday night Mommy & Daddy went to see the movie 'Up'. They really liked it. Daddy said that I can watch it with them when I get older...I wonder how old I have to be...I'm going to be 1 soon!

I know they had fun, but I think I had more fun. Grammie and Grandpa came to play! I was FULL of it and and stayed up way past my bedtime playing with them!

Saturday morning we went to Aunt Audrey's softball game. She didn't get to play, but she helped with warm-ups. She also ran past us between innings. Grandpa said it was to keep her muscles warm. I kept waving at her...but she didn't see me. She was focused.

Grandpa & I played in the dirt.

I also picked some flowers. Mommy wouldn't let me eat them.

I got Aunt Audrey's attention!

Saturday afternoon Great Uncle Paul came to help Daddy figure a few things out on the boat. What should have taken a few minutes...took 2 hours. Mommy said that when men look like this...it's a good time to stay out of the way. We peeked at them through the window.

On our way to the softball game, we made a pit stop at a garage sale. Daddy spotted what Mommy has been looking for as we were driving by. Mommy jumped out of the car and ran to it. She saw the price, told the lady she wanted to buy it and then returned to Daddy and he emptied his pockets. It was perfect. Daddy had just what my new wheels cost...$3.

I love my little car. I inspected every bit of it. I had a smile on my face the whole time and whenever Mommy would open the door, I would close it. I can't wait to go cruising with my friend!

To top off our wonderful weekend, today was the 5th Sunday of the month. Mommy & Daddy dropped me off bright & early at Grandpa & Grammum's. They went out to breakfast, made it to chruch for practice and Mommy took a 3 hour nap! I had a great time banging on pots with Grammum, being chased by my aunts and putting my finger prints all over Grandpa's glasses. I was so pooped when I got home! I fell asleep half way through demonstrating my new trick.

Mommy said this trick worries her a bit. :P

last JV game

We went for a road trip today to cheer Audrey on for the last JV game of the season. But for Audrey, it's not the last game. Starting next week, she will be on Varsity! (Can you tell we are a bit proud of her!!) Anyway, it was a great game. Audrey's team won 7 to 4. Here she is about to steal second.

Eddie and Great Grandma had a good time talking & watching the game....(Grammum was busy keeping stats).

Audrey tried to get Eddie's attention...

but he was busy.

Audrey scored 3 of her team's 7 points! Here she is safe at home. (Again...can you tell we are proud of her?!?)

Of course she could miss every pitch and flub every play and we would still be proud! (But she doesn't...she's quite good.)

In unrelated Audrey news...she took her drivers test today! She passed with flying colors and in 5 days, my baby sister will be driving!

Afternoon Adventures

Thursday afternoon we went to Aunt Audrey's softball game. I spent lots of the game distracting Great Grandma.

Aunt Audrey caught the ball and got someone out at first. Can you see her in the picture...?

No...? That is because Mommy was cheering and moving so much that she took a lovely photo of the fence and the sky.

She makes me laugh. Here is one with Aunt Audrey, she wasn't running yet and easier to photograph.

After the game I played with Grammummy. She does stats for the game and has to pay close attention to what is going on, so I can't sit on her lap.

At night we went downtown to watch Aunt Julie dance. We stopped by the tulips on the way to 8th street.

Mommy tried to get a few more photos...but I didn't feel like it. Even with Maddie to play with! Aunt Julie dances at 8pm...I'm usually sleeping by then.

Maddie and I watched the Dutch dancers for the first time. It was really great. There were SO many people! Can you find Aunt Julie? She is way on the left...in the blue boy's costume. :)

Did I mention it was past bedtime & I was tired?

At the very end Aunt Julie came to get me & I got to dance with her!

I gave Aunt Julie's hat to Jon. He offered it to me...but I don't like wearing hats. I think it looks better on him. :)

Yesterday Aunt Audrey had another softball game. Guess where it was...Daddy's school! Mommy & I decided to not only go to the game, but also to stop at Daddy's tennis practice. Daddy was running drills and as soon as I heard his voice, I started to squeal. It didn't take long for him to hear me. He came to say hi and I was introduced to his team. The ladies thought I was cute. Very cute.

After I was done smiling and flirting with the ladies, we moved on to softball.

I kept babbling and distracting Aunt Audrey while she was on deck.

I did not want to wear my hat....really.

Aunt Audrey made some awesome plays. Here she is getting someone out at second. I'm impressed that Mommy actually got Aunt Audrey in the photo this time!

Daddy joined us after practice.

On our way out we ran into Great Grandpa & Great Grandma. They were watching Daddy's cousin play baseball. We stopped to say hi.

It has been a busy week with softball games, a parade, Dutch dancing and playing outside. Mommy and Daddy were pooped...I had gotten a cat nap on the ride home and was ready to play. I got to stay up past my bedtime and entertain Mommy and Daddy. We were dancing to music and laughing pretty hard. Eventually the fun ended and I went to bed. I could hear Mommy and Daddy talking in the backyard. They sat under the stars and enjoyed a fire. (The fire was in our fire pit...Daddy didn't set our backyard ablaze.) It's been a fun week...I wonder what adventures this weekend will hold!

Not Me!

The Mama over at My Charming Kids, fesses up to the funny, somewhat embarrassing things that have happened during the week by saying she didn't actually do them. She calls them, Not me Mondays. I thought I'd join in the fun....

On Saturday I did not take my son to a double header and forget to put sunscreen on his face. I did not feel awful and embarrassed about his bright red cheeks that, when we got home I told my hubby his cheeks were flushed from being outside and not sun burned.

I did not constantly attack my son with lotion Saturday night to try and get the red out.

While his cheeks were looking a lot better, I did not think about staying home from church on Sunday because I thought his red cheeks would scream to the congregation that I was a bad Mommy and didn't take good care of my son. (I also never over think things...and make crazy jumps in logic) I was not relieved when we all woke up with head colds and had a real reason to stay home.

With my son's runny nose, I do not use my sleeve to wipe it in a pinch. I do not then fold up the sleeve and continue to wear a booger shirt. That is so gross. I also do not use my clothing to wipe his drool and I certainly would not have used my shirt yesterday to wipe my son's feet after his Daddy dipped his toes into cold, dirty pool water. That is not me.

I most definitely did not talk to a bottle last night about how much I despise it when it leaks. What kind of crazy person would do that? When the bottle dripped on the carpet in the dining room I did not just rub it into the carpet and think, 'plenty good' because we will be replacing that flooring soon anyway.

I do not do any of these things. That is certainly not me.

They called her number.

Aunt Audrey was moved up to the varsity team for a double header on Saturday. Her cheering section went along with her.

I entertained everyone before the game started. Mommy tried to get me to take a nap...I had news for her!

I had fun playing with Aunt Emily between games. She doesn't throw me quite as high as Daddy. She said she doesn't want to drop me...I told her that she wouldn't, but I couldn't convince her to toss me higher. That's o.k. I still loved it.

Grandpa made it back to town in time for the second game.

I watched most of the game from his shoulders. There were times that I had to get wiggling so he knew it was time to walk around again.

Aunt Audrey got up to bat...

I was yelling so loud for her...

She sure did smack that baby! When they write about her in the paper they say she has a 'hot bat'. I don't know if it's hot...but I do know that it is loud!

She went flying past us! I tried to see if something was chasing her...but nothing was. Grandpa explained that she had to get to the base before the ball. I was a bit confused. She hit the ball away from her...why would she want it back?

Her team didn't win and Mommy said that isn't what counts anyway. We are so proud of Aunt Audrey! She moved up in competition & still got an awesome hit. After the game I had fun goofing around with Grandpa & Auntie Em.

I told Aunt Audrey how great I thought she did and I am looking forward to watching her play again soon!
