'Praying for Stellan' Monday

I can not tell you the number of times I have hit the refresh button on my computer last night and today. I have been following MckMama for months now and even though I've never met her, she feels like a friend. Her humor, advice and helpful child rearing posts are something I always look forward to. Her sweet little boy Stellan is currently being airlifted to Boston and I along with others are hitting the refresh button on her blog and twitter account to find out how he is doing. We are falling to our knees praying for God's hand in healing this little boy.

Please pray too.

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else, and their kids, have not been doing this week.

While at the park with friends, my son's cracker did not fall from his mouth into wood chips. He did not grab the cracker and a handful of wood chips and stuff them into his mouth. I did not jump to dig them out only to end up with chewed cracker and wood chips all over my shoulder. I did not forget about my messy shirt. It was not as I was getting ready for bed that I realized my shirt was a mess. I did not mentally run through my day and try to think of who had seen me covered in half chewed food.

We have not had serious issues with our phones lately and have not been talking about getting new ones. I did not jump onto the company's site and try to figure out what was a good camera phone. I totally know that a phone is for calling people, not for taking pictures of my child.

When we went and got our new phones, I was not totally excited that the free phone could not only take pictures, but text as well. I did not spend nap time trying to figure out the camera...I mean phone. I did not accidentally leave a looong message on my Dad's voice mail of me saying, 'how do I end this call? What button do I push?' Oh, and I certainly did not stay up late that night texting with my sisters.

I also didn't take a picture of my phone, with my son's picture as the background, which turned out very yellow for some reason.

After I uploaded the yellow photo I did not realize that the pillow I used to prop it up was my Cabbage Patch pillow. I am a total grown-up and our bedding is all perfectly matched. When we moved bedrooms and painted our bedroom walls, I ran right out and bought new sheets. I do not still use old pillow cases from my youth or the red plaid sheets that matched our old quilt.

What have you not been up to?

Not Me! Home/Flooding Edition

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else has not been doing this week.

Between updating the kitchen and our water issue last weekend, these are not some of the moments that have helped break the stress and brought about laughs.

While the kitchen cabinet doors were off for 6 months, I did not get used to just tossing things into the trash. When the door went back up, but the piece between the sink and the doors was not back up, I did not begin to cram things into the empty space instead of opening the doors.

And of course once the missing piece was replaced, I did not continue to try and toss things in, only to have them bounce back out at me. This didn't happen on multiple occasions, and certainly not with diapers.

While I am feeling less stressed, I did not get frustrated when one of our smoke detectors started to go haywire and beep every 30 seconds...during nap time. I did not eagerly agree to my hubby's suggestion to attack it with a hammer. Nope. Not me.

Now that our stove and our refrigerator are back in the kitchen, there have not been times where I will automatically go into the living room to get a drink. Of course I remember that things have been put back.

I also was not used to throwing dirty bibs down the basement steps so I could scoop them up as I went to our washer and dryer. I have not caught myself about to toss them down. I know that our basement is empty. After taking a swim, our washer and dryer were not working.

My hubby met with the appliance doctor today and when he called to find out my opinion on getting the machines fixed or getting new ones I did not pause to think about it. In my pause my hubby did not tell me that the doctor said if we needed more time to think about it, he could come back in a couple weeks. My response to my hubby was not for him to barricade the door and not let the doctor out until our machines are working. I am not totally spoiled and missing my washer and dryer. I love doing my laundry elsewhere.

While trying to make a temporary office in the guest room amongst all of the items that didn't get wet...

...I did not figure that Eddie's birthday is close enough and moved his birthday present out of the guest room and into the living room. His birthday isn't until Thursday and he needs to wait. Oh, and he certainly has not been playing with his tool bench since I bought it off Craigs List a few months ago. Nope. I wouldn't ruin a birthday surprise.

Not Me! Monday

"Are you feeling guilty for pretending not to notice your toddler playing with the dog food? Feel like a slouch for staying in your jammies all day? We'll don't! Not Me! Monday was born out of my desire to admit some of my imperfections and reveal a few moments I'd rather forget. You may find it therapeutic to join in and do the same thing!" mck mama

In my excitement of my Dad opening the pool and in anticipation for getting the boat out of storage, I did not decide to try on Eddie's life jacket. I did not laugh as the weight of it caused him to tip over backwards. I did not continue to laugh as I reached for the camera took pictures of him stranded like a turtle on it's back.

I certainly was not slap happy and did not laugh to the point that I had tears in my eyes. That is not nice and I would not do that.

Oh...and even though he was getting frustrated...I did not flip the switch on the camera to video.

Not Me!

The Mama over at My Charming Kids, fesses up to the funny, somewhat embarrassing things that have happened during the week by saying she didn't actually do them. She calls them, Not me Mondays. I thought I'd join in the fun....

On Saturday I did not take my son to a double header and forget to put sunscreen on his face. I did not feel awful and embarrassed about his bright red cheeks that, when we got home I told my hubby his cheeks were flushed from being outside and not sun burned.

I did not constantly attack my son with lotion Saturday night to try and get the red out.

While his cheeks were looking a lot better, I did not think about staying home from church on Sunday because I thought his red cheeks would scream to the congregation that I was a bad Mommy and didn't take good care of my son. (I also never over think things...and make crazy jumps in logic) I was not relieved when we all woke up with head colds and had a real reason to stay home.

With my son's runny nose, I do not use my sleeve to wipe it in a pinch. I do not then fold up the sleeve and continue to wear a booger shirt. That is so gross. I also do not use my clothing to wipe his drool and I certainly would not have used my shirt yesterday to wipe my son's feet after his Daddy dipped his toes into cold, dirty pool water. That is not me.

I most definitely did not talk to a bottle last night about how much I despise it when it leaks. What kind of crazy person would do that? When the bottle dripped on the carpet in the dining room I did not just rub it into the carpet and think, 'plenty good' because we will be replacing that flooring soon anyway.

I do not do any of these things. That is certainly not me.
