Half Dome

We were sent pictures today from a road trip that my sister-in-law & my brother-in-law went on. They set off on a 3 week adventure after school got out. One of their stops was at Yosemite National Park. The whole family was there 2 years ago & Troy was talking about climbing Half Dome. On this trip they climbed it. The pictures are so amazing that I had to post them.

Troy & Janna at the top

This is looking up...those little specks going up the middle - those are people. It is 16 mile hike & 5,000 feet up from the valley. When we went as a family the highest I went was Vernal Falls & Silver Apron - those are about a 4.5 mile hike & 1,400 feet up. That hike did feel longer - Mark, his mom & I got a bit turned around & couldn't find the car. :P Still - for someone who doesn't like heights, I was very proud that I got up that high!

Congratulations Janna & Troy!
