Long Weekend

We had a wonderful holiday weekend. Even with rain and head colds...we had a lot of fun!
Friday afternoon [before Mark & I went on our 1st date since Dani was born :) ] we played outside. Eddie ran into the garage & pointed at the water table and said 'water'. I was really impressed - we haven't played with it yet this summer!


Eddie thought I could use some cooling down and dumped water on me while I was taking his picture.


Saturday night we celebrated Audrey's 17th birthday.

(Goodness kids grow so fast!! She is now officially a senior in high school!! When I was a senior...I would pick her up from KINDERGARTEN!! Her birthdays make me feel older than my own do. :P)


Eddie thought she needed help blowing out the candles...then he showed her the proper way to dig your finger into the icing.


Eddie wanted to turn on the 'sprinkles' (aka sprinklers) and the party moved outdoors and into the water!




Sunday night we had a cookout. Uncle Troy & Dani got to meet. He and Aunt Janna look quite comfortable with a baby in their arms. Eddie & Dani are both excited to meet their new cousin! :)


Uncle Troy taught Eddie to drink from the sprinkles.


He ran through the water with Grandpa.


Dani stayed snuggled by Aunt Julie for most of the night. Once the ice cream came out, Eddie got out of the water. It was the perfect night for a cookout!


Monday morning we went to the parade.


After the early morning shower we were unsure if we were going to go...but when the rain let up we decided to give it a try. Eddie just took it all in and Dani slept through the whole thing.


After the parade we went to brunch at Grandpa & Grandmum's before heading home for a much needed nap time.


The rain started up again in the afternoon. During one of the breaks Mark took Eddie for a bike ride. They got out of the driveway, but not too far. The rain began to drizzle again and Eddie wanted out of the trailer.


For dinner we had a carpet picnic. It was the first time we spread a blanket on the floor & watched a movie during dinner.


Eddie bounced around quite a bit during dinner. Once he was done eating he asked it we could play outside. The rain had stopped again so...


we went and played.


It was a great weekend - looking back we did quite a bit...but it was relaxing & made me very excited for summer!!
