I love taking pictures, but it makes it difficult to also be in them. I was super excited.
We made our appointment in January. This ended up being the one that the photographer forgot about. So we booked again. He did show up to that one & I thought the session went really well. He said that he would get the proofs back to me in a week.
After waiting a week and then another 2 weeks of e-mailing him every other day & trying to stop in at the studio only to find it locked...I got our proofs.
He had given us straight out of the camera shots. No editing was done. The cracks on the floor we clearly visible, you could see where the backdrop ended, the lighting was off and Eddie's eyes were half closed in some of them.
I was way bummed.
Out of close to 130 pictures...I picked 10. Then I narrowed it to 5 & told him just how I wanted them edited.
Once I got those, I placed an order. I did get an apology from the photographer saying that we had 'slipped through the cracks'.
I didn't allow our photos to fall though the cracks again. After placing the order, I gave him a few days & then began to e-mail every other day asking when we could pick them up...after not hearing back again...I was starting to worry, but two weeks later the photographer called and Mark picked the photos up.
While it wasn't the best experience, I am happy with the photos that we ended up with.
(I am also thankful that the photographer gave Julie the run around when she was trying to get quotes for her upcoming wedding...so she hired someone else. :) If you are in need of a photographer...we can tell you where not to go.)
I didn't buy the digital rights for the photos...but still wanted to include them...so I am not sure...but by taking pictures of the pictures hanging on my wall, it might be a loop hole for the whole photographer's rights thing...because I am not actually 'reproducing' them.
Can I get away with that?
If not...enjoy the photos of my frames that happen to have photos in them. I personally really like the mirrored one that is in Eddie's room. :)
I know Eddie is now 20 months old...but here are the long awaited 18 month photos.
Or photos of our walls.
However you would like to look at it so I don't get in trouble.

While hanging the photo in Eddie's room, I had the urge to move the last of his things out of the baby's room. While moving his Mickey Mouse hat over, Eddie asked for it...and put it on his horse.

Then he picked the horse's nose.

Just kidding! Eddie is big into pointing out everyone's eyes, nose, mouth & ears lately. :)

So sorry to hear that things didn't go well for you.
Ooo sounds familiar. Wonder if it was the same photographer...
Is it bad that I'm nosy and want to know who the bad photographer was? :P
I can recommend an amazing photographer if you're looking for one! She specializes in young children. She did our pics this summer and they turned out great!
