On Monday, Grammy (Mark's mom) came to stay with Eddie so I could go to work - alone. She is going to come on Monday mornings to play with him. It was wonderful. Eddie & Grammy had fun and I plowed through tons of work. While I love the little guy and was excited to get back home to him, it was nice to be on my own for a bit. I was told that he was a good little boy...but I think he would have to be really bad for Grammy to consider him a handful.
Tuesday we were invited to a playgroup. I think it is going to help me keep my sanity. :) It was so wonderful to talk with a group of mommies. I loved it. I can't wait for the next one. Eddie slept through most of it...but when he does get to the point of playing, there are lots of kids to play with and 3 other boys within a few months of him!
This evening we did something that I have not done since high school...watched a tennis match. Eddie & I surprised Mark. It's not that I don't support Mark in his coaching, which he has been doing for...wow, 3 years already, it's just that I don't understand the game. It's my own fault. It's not like I don't have someone to teach me...I just don't take the time to learn. I am determined to make it to another match. Mark was excited to see us and I know he had a great time showing Eddie off. Later in the season they will play at a school that is about a mile from our house. It would be very pathetic of me not to show up.
While this week has been exciting so far, this afternoon had me scrambling. I went to get Eddie up from his nap and I could smell that he had been busy. While trying to clean him up, I realized I was not making progress. The only way to get him clean was to pull out the tub. Eddie had his first 'dipper'. While in the tub he called daddy and grandpa. He knew that they would be proud.
