gDiapers

While taking about diapers while I was pregnant, Mark told me he didn't like the idea of using disposable diapers. I was surprised, I didn't expect him to have an opinion on diapers. Knowing his feelings, we began the search to find an alternative. The search yeilded gDiapers. They are a mix of cloth & disposable.

This is from the website: gDiapers consist of a washable, cotton outer "little g" pant and a plastic-free flushable diaper refill. They are made of breathable material just like sports clothing. So, babies stay dry and happy and are far less likely to get diaper rash. You can flush, toss or compost them.

Mark liked that they are good for the environment, they decompose in 50-150 days. While I was excited for the environment, I thought they were just too cute.

So far, so good. I'm still a little slow with them & I do keep back-up diaposiable diapers for days I don't want to deal with it, but overall, we like them. Any problems we have had with them have been user error.

Right now we are throwing the refills away. Mark tried to flush one - it over-flowed our toilet. He thinks he didn't swish it enough before flushing...but being that we only have one bathroom in our home, I have not been quick to try it again.

And I personally think that I was right, they are adoriable.

They are super cute!!!!! And I LOVE the pics of his little bum in them! I checked out the website and was very intrigued.... but don't quite know that I could do it. I am curious though as to how long they can absorb once the baby sleeps through the night... We actually had to switch brands of disposable diapers (from WalMart brand to Huggies) with Jonathan b/c he slept so long at night once he got bigger the diaper couldn't hold 10-12 hours of stuff.

Hopefully you see this comment. I am friends with Tripp and I also know Mark because our Moms were good friends while we were growing up...
I was wondering if you would let me know more about your experience with these? When you have time, of course.
Congrats on your lovely little guy by the way. :)
