update...

We are still here!

We had a wonderful holiday season with our families & felt so blessed.  This was the 1st year that Eddie really 'got it'.  We did a lot of talking about Jesus' birthday...but he is still rather baffled about the whole 'Santa thing'.

In past years, I've gotten our family photos by the tree done well in advance of Christmas.  That didn't happen this year.  We decided not to do a Christmas card this year & that has always been my push to get things done early.  (we WILL be doing a card next year - I really missed it - but with trying to keep this year low key & birth announcements to send out soon...we figured we'd wait.)

So.  Here is the best family photo we got.  I held out my arm with our point & shoot and snapped a few:

Eddie was way more interested in playing with the new hand puppets they received & Dani was crying and trying to get away.  Did I mention it was Christmas morning & the kids already had 3 parties under their belt and were way overtired?

Even though the kids were done, I wanted one of the two of them together...this worked out a bit better because I had silly Daddy behind me.

I was extremely spoiled to have my amazing hubby around for almost 2 weeks.  That man painted, cleaned & helped me organize to my nesting heart's delight!  Love him!!

Other than household projects, our BIG project for Christmas break was potty training.  Eddie totally understood the concept, but had been a bit stubborn, so we gave him a deadline.  We didn't mention it to him, but on the advice of a friend (THANK YOU LENA!!!), for 3 days leading up to the big day, every time I changed him, I gave Eddie the choice of diapers or undies (he always choose diapers).  On the big day, Mark told him that today he got undies.

And that was it.

He's had 1 accident, but he took to it and never looked back.  He does still get a diaper at naptime & bedtime, but I think once things get settled in a month or so, we'll drop that as well.  SO PROUD of him!!

Speaking of nesting...here is the belly at 36 weeks.
I feel like it has grown quite a bit since this.
I could just be that in the last few days I feel like I am bumping into everything.

So hard to believe how close we are to becoming a family of 5!
