Can you see her dimple?)
Can you see her dimple?)

and Mark & Eddie were getting ready to go out for donuts...

when Mark's Dad called. He wondered if Mark wanted to take down a tree in our backyard. A big, ugly, dead pine tree that has been big, ugly and dead since the day we moved in.
Of course Mark said yes.So Saturday afternoon our Dads came over and they began to scheme up a plan. Because of all the power lines running around our house, they couldn't just cut it down at the bottom; it had to come down in two pieces.I wasn't planning on watching...but decided to once both kids were down for naps. When I saw how high Mark's Dad was up in the tree...I almost went back inside.
I decided to stay (just in case anyone needed to call 911).

I did lots and lots of praying...and I didn't have to call any emergency services.

The big, ugly, dead pine tree came tumbling down and landed just where the guys wanted it to.

They were pretty excited.

I didn't worry about this cut at all. I felt much better once his feet were on the ground.

As the guys said - it is great when a plan comes off without a hitch!

Eddie slept through the tree coming down, but woke up in time for some clean-up.

Most of the time he pretended that his rake was a 'patar' (guitar).

He also carried sticks and told us how heavy they were. :)

Mark's Dad has a few trees he wants down at his house and Mark is going to help. While I am so glad that this went well and it was cool to watch the tree come down...I will not be watching those fall. I will pray from home. :)
