2 Months

I know this is my 5th entry today, with all the fun of Labor Day weekend, I didn't realize right away what today is. Eddie turned 2 months old. (Technically he's 8 weeks 6 days...but I think it's time to switch over to months.)

Last night I was putting towels away in the bathroom. Because of our limited storage space I keep towels hanging on the back of the door. As I put fresh ones out for Mark and I, I saw this.

It stopped me. It really affirmed that we are now a family of 3. 3 towels hanging cozy together. I liked the look of it.

When I realized that it was your 2 month birthday, Buggy, I grabbed the camera. This is what you gave me. Normally, you really like sitting in the Boppy.

You have grown up so much is that last few weeks. You amaze me everyday. You are growing so fast! Each day is a new adventure. When we got home from our walk this morning, you saw your first big ugly bug on the garage door. My first reaction was to swat at it. Then I realized it was a Praying Mantis & I think you can get fined for messing with them. I left it alone. I was thinking that soon you are going to be bringing things to me to show me how cool they are. I will do my best not to run away screaming, but I cannot make any promises. I don't like bugs.

You are getting so good at sleeping in your crib! When I went to get you this afternoon, I leaned in and asked if you had a good sleep & rubbed your tummy, you rewarded me with a big smile!

Smiling is your new thing. It is so much fun every time you crack one. I love how your smile makes your eyes sparkle and that you give them so freely. Daddy is so sure that you will be laughing soon. It is a joy to interact with you more and see your amazement of everyday things, like a light.

You are becoming more aware of your hands. I see you flexing them more & more. When I hold you, you will often grab hold of my shirt. It has become more important to keep your fingernails trimmed! :) You have also been reaching your arms out more. I think you are getting ready to grab at the toys we hang in front of you.

When someone else is holding you & I am out of your line of vision, I can say something & you will turn your head to find me. That just melts my heart. You want your mommy. When you are really fussy, which doesn't happen too often, Daddy can try & calm you down, but you don't settle in until you are by me. Daddy feels bad about it, and I feel bad for Daddy, but I just love that you want me.

You have the most beautiful blue eyes and curly eyelashes. You get those from Daddy. Your hair is also coming in, it looks like it will be dark like Daddy's. You also have his chin. People either tell me that you look like Daddy, or that you look like Grandpa. I think it's the shape of your eyes that makes you look like grandpa...and I got those from him too...so that means you look a bit like me too. :)

If I look really close at your nose, I can see a little line. If anyone asks me about it, I tell them that that is where God closed you up when he was done. I thank him everyday for giving you to me and your daddy.

I love you Peanut!
